Movie Review :

Released in 2006 and the seventh in a line of great movies from Disney Pixar, Cars is an animated feature film which again broke the barriers for the audience in terms of entertainment. Based on a set of "human like" cars characters, the movie revolves around a rookie racing car going by the name of Lightning McQueen who looks all set to make history by winning the piston cup in his first race season. However, as routine, the Disney Pixar cars movie storyline has a few twists and turns to add to the scheme of things, and after finishing in a dead heat in the final race of the season, Lightning and the other racing cars have to travel to a tiebreaker race in Los Angeles, California and whilst on route Lightning inadvertently ends up being arrested in a little, not so busy town, known as radiator springs, located near the renowned Route 66.

Living life fast left no time for Lightning to have many, if any, friends or acquaintances and being the new sensation on the block he came across as very arrogant and pompous, with the self belief that he was the best and untouchable. In contrast the towns folk of radiator springs were very laid back and relaxed albeit whilst mindful that their town had become very quiet and subdued following the opening of the new highway which saw a lot of traffic not need to pass through the town while using the new road which affected business and they felt that their town had been forgotten.

During his time in radiator springs Lightning discovers and learns a lot from the town's cars and on his journey discovers that life can be lived, and still enjoyed, at a slower pace and found new ideas on living and that perhaps friendship can come before the need to race and win and by the time he is setting off once again for his tiebreaker race he has a totally new temperament and persona.

Lightning races the tiebreaker race in a total new fashion showing the values he learnt whilst at radiator springs and the Disney Pixar Cars movie really puts across the value and importance of friendship and some very good moral values which Lightning learns along this road of self discovery. We hope you agree the Disney Pixar cars movie is really a movie worth the acclaim it has received.
